12th Alentejo Winegrowing Symposium scheduled for June 22nd and 23rd

Sustainability and the future of the world wine sector are priorities of the topics under debate in Alentejo.

The 12th Alentejo Winegrowing Symposium is scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of June. This year's edition, with sustainability highlighted, of one of the most important debate forums in the wine sector, will bring together professionals, researchers, enologists and producers from various wine regions worldwide.

The event will take place at the Alentejo Science and Technology Park (PACT), at Herdade da Barba Rala (Rua Luís Adelino Fonseca, 7005-345 Évora), and aims to bring to the table different perspectives of professionals, highlighting the role from the sustainability of the vineyards to the wineries.

With the last edition held in 2019, the Alentejo Winegrowing Symposium is an initiative under the responsibility of the Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission (CVRA), ATEVA – Technical Association of Alentejo Viticulturists, the Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDRA) , the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of the Alentejo (DRAPAL) and the University of Évora.

Remember that the event, held every three years since 1988, was previously scheduled for May, having been rescheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of June. The Winegrowing Symposium aims to share knowledge, gather and discuss priority topics that impact the future of the sector, thus promoting the exchange of experiences between professionals from various wine regions of the world.
