The Alentejo Regional Vitivinicultural Commission (CVRA) will celebrate International Women's Day, which will take place this Monday, March 8, with the webinar “Women around Wine”.

The initiative starts at 17:00 and has the presence of Cecília do Carmo, producer at Adega do Montado, Sandra Gonçalves, oenologist at Dona Maria Wines, and Maria Manuel Pica, export director at Quinta do Paral, who will lead a conversation that intends to inspire other women to succeed in the wine sector.

“This is a date to mark for the important role that women play in our society. Taking advantage of the anniversary, CVRA tries to captivate the female audience on the subject of wine, a product that lives a lot of sensations and in which, many times, women are the decision makers on what to buy or choose. Also in the sector, we see more and more women in management positions, which shows the capacities of leadership, decision and strategic planning. I have no doubt in saying that the wine sector is richer due to the presence of a greater number of women. ” advances Francisco Mateus, president of CVRA.

The free session will focus on the academic and professional trajectory of these three women who are faces of reference in the production of Alentejo wine and is part of a set of webinars that CVRA has been developing since February 26 and that will culminate in the March 31, placing on the table themes ranging from wine tasting, wine tourism, sustainability and the entire wine creation process, from the grape to the bottle.

Up to the closing date of the initiatives, three webinars are still scheduled: “Sustainability: the Future of Wines” (March 18, at 3 pm); “From the Grape to the Bottle” (March 25, at 3 pm); and, finally, “Wine Market Opportunities in Brazil” (March 31).
