Alentejo heads to Germany to be present at the world's largest wine fair

More than 350 wine references from the Alentejo region will be presented at ProWein 2023!

The Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission (CVRA) will take 352 references of wine from the region to what is the world's largest fair in the sector, ProWein 2023, which will take place on March 19, 20 and 21 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

This, which is already the 15th participation of the CVRA in the event that brings thousands of visitors to Germany, will have a stand of more than 180 square meters, where around 30 Alentejo producers will make known the singularities of the region's nectars. Producers adhering to the Wines of Alentejo Sustainability Program (WASP) will also be flagged so that all the sustainability efforts implemented, from vineyards to wineries, are recognized by visitors.

Regarding the Alentejo's participation in the sector's largest meeting point worldwide, Francisco Mateus, president of the CVRA, says that "this is a great opportunity to show the quality of the region's wines and continue to grow in the international market, where in recent years Over the years we have been increasingly recognized for our terroir and the singularities that result from it.

The successive increase in our value, in our price, abroad reflects that and this is the path we want to continue to follow.” It should be remembered that throughout the year, the CVRA promotes the region and its nectars in different markets, with the aim of making known the wines produced in the Alentejo and the sustainable measures adopted by the region's producers to the wine sector beyond. borders.

In 2022, at the latest edition of ProWein – the largest international fair in the wine sector – “Alentejo Friends” was the stand dedicated to producers who guarantee the region’s sustainability at an event that had more than 38,000 visitors from 145 countries.
