Alentejo region and Wine lovers have one more reason to visit Évora: the renewed Alentejo Wine Route will reopen next Monday, May 3rd. To mark the week of the reopening, the Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission (CVRA), responsible for the space, will offer a tasting of five Alentejo wines free of charge to all who wish to purchase a bottle, during the month of May.
The two-story space, which has a sensory experience area and a multimedia room, was opened in March 2020 and allows visitors to design the route consisting of wineries, restaurants and hotels, within the scope of Alentejo wine tourism, which is more it suits your trip, as well as getting to know the history of Alentejo viticulture, the most common types of soil or grape varieties in the region, the ancestral tradition of Talha wine, sustainable practices, and even savoring the different nectars produced there.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce the reopening of the Alentejo Wine Route and its modern and dynamic space that is a reference for Portuguese wine tourism and the basic center of this sector in the Alentejo.”, states Francisco Mateus, president of CVRA.
The space of the Alentejo Wine Route, located in the center of the city of Évora, at Rua 5 de Outubro, nº 88, on the way from Praça do Giraldo to the Cathedral of Évora and the Roman Temple, will be open to visitors between 10 am and 6 pm from Monday to Friday.
