Alentejo Wine Region celebrates the ancestral tradition of Talha wines
The Alentejo Wine Region is a mandatory stop during the months of November and December, a period when traditionally the opening of the pots takes place and this ancestral wine is crossed with the traditional flavors of Magusto. The Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission (CVRA) gathered some of the options available so that the region is on the agenda of all those who appreciate one of the ex-libris of the region and Portugal: the Talha Wine.
Portugal, more precisely the Alentejo, is one of the only places in the world to maintain the tradition of carving, having preserved until today the winemaking process developed by the Romans over two thousand years ago. This wine, which is part of the Alentejo's DNA, is essentially distinguished by the fact that it ferments ancestrally and spontaneously in the wood carving – through contact with clay – instead of in vats, which gives it unique characteristics.
