Alentejo Wine Route joins Madalena Vidigal for training on wine tourism in the region
Alentejo Wine Route has been the stage of training and empowerment initiatives for the region's economic agents.
The Alentejo Wine Route (R. Cinco de Outubro nº 88, 7000-854 Évora) will receive Madalena Vidigal, author of the blog “Entre Vinhas” and wine producer, for training in Wine Tourism, next Tuesday, March 29 at 10 am. The in-person event is open to all people interested in investing in wine tourism in the region, or who already have a business in the area and promises to make wine think beyond the vineyard.
What is wine tourism? What exists and can be explored beyond the cellars? How to adapt wine tourism to an increasingly digital world? These are some of the points to be explored by the wine tourism specialist, Madalena Vidigal, during the almost five hours during which the initiative takes place. Training in wine tourism is part of the strategy of the Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission (CVRA) which aims to unify and strengthen wine tourism in the region, by establishing partnerships or holding workshops with producers.
Francisco Mateus, president of CVRA, explains the strategy: “If, in the last two years, Portuguese tourism has shrunk, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this seems to us to be the year of recovery, with the resumption of free movement between different countries, which is why Alentejo Wines have been clearly investing in wine tourism, promoting training actions and initiatives with producers”.
