Wines of Alentejo through the Wine Route are present at the 38th edition of FITUR, the most important tourism fair in the Iberian Peninsula, to be held in Madrid from 17 to 21 January. This participation results from a joint collaboration between the CVRA - Alentejo Regional Wine Commission, ARPTA - Regional Agency for Tourism Promotion of Alentejo and winemaking units of the Alentejo, counting on the support of Turismo de Portugal, the main objective being the affirmation of the Alentejo as an international enotouristic destination of excellence.
Like last year, Fitur will have an area dedicated to wine tourism, with the 2018 edition being more comprehensive, internationally: Wine Tourism Around the World, where Alentejo, present in a stand of more than 300m2, will be in 2018 the International Enotouristic Destination of Fitur.
The central objective of the event will be to take advantage of the interest of potential visitors and national and foreign tourists to the wine and wine industry in the Alentejo region, seeking to interest them also in other aspects of regional cultural and tourist reality, such as its architectural heritage, crafts, tourism and cultural animation, gastronomy, its people and its people.
During the event, on 18 January, an international conference entitled '
The Future of EnoTourism' will be held. Destination Brands. Success Cases', where topics related to wine tourism and success stories will be discussed. Francisco Mateus, President of the CVRA, will be one of the invited speakers who will present the case of "Alentejo Wine Route".
For Francisco Mateus, President of the CVRA, "we are very pleased to be part of what is one of the most important tourism fairs. Throughout 2017, the Alentejo received numerous national and international distinctions that have consolidated its position as an election destination for wine tourism. The presentation at Fitur will allow us to reach even more people and the reaffirmation of Alentejo wines."
The wine tourism units will be: Adega Mayor, Farmhouse Alexandre Relvas, Herdade das Cortiçadas, João Portugal Ramos Vinhos, Monte da Ravasqueira, Quinta do Quetzal - Family Estate and Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, a very diversified, solid and integrated offer, which led to the organization of the event to consider that the Alentejo presence is the one that has the greatest sense of its presence in a Fair like Fitur, so the slogan / message that the organization will communicate with a lot of emphasis will be: 'EnoTurístico Destino interna Internacional: Alentejo (Portugal).
