The Alentejo Regional Entity of Tourism published the "Alentejo Wine Tourism Guide", a tourist brochure published in partnership with the Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission, the Tejo Regional Wine Commission of and the Association of Wine Producers of the Alentejo Coast.

Coordinated by the journalist Maria João Almeida, the Guide presents descriptions of the wine tourims that exist in the region, mentions labels, highlights grapes and small notes on the heritage and family history dedicated to the wine sector.

Available in Portuguese and English, the book includes symbology that allows the reader to quickly see if wine tourism makes visits to the winery or vineyards, if it has a store, if it is possible taste wine, if the space has a restaurant and / or another area for gastronomic tastings or even lodging.

It also presents a list of other experiences available to visitors, such as wine or gastronomic workshops, olive oil tasting, horseback riding, visits to nearby monuments, hiking or business events.

In this context, after the survey of the existing spaces, management tools and a manual of good practices were presented that allow entrepreneurs to qualify the wine tourisms and, consequently, to increase the number of visits.

For Turismo do Alentejo / Ribatejo, "at a time when wine tourism is predominant in the choice motives of tourists and visitors, the development and implementation of this project in the territory is assumed to be strategic and fundamental."

This edition is part of the Project for the Organization, Structuring and Promotion of Enotourism of Alentejo and Ribatejo, supported by the regional POA Alentejo 2020 and is a collective action led by the Regional Tourism Entity, which brings together the Regional Winegrowing Commission of Alentejo, the Tejo Regional Wine Commission and the Association of Wine Producers of the Alentejo Coast.
