The Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Comission (CVRA) will host, in association with VINUM and Marktree, the annual Wines of Alentejo tasting in Zurich.

In addition to the event, the visit of the Alentejo wines to Switzerland in 2019 presents a great novelty: three Wine & Dine in three different cities - Zurich, Basel and St. Gallen.

The annual event will take place on April 1st, at the Metropol Hotel, and will be attended by several producers from the region with their wines. This action aims to promote contact with the producer, his wines and sector, and later, also with the final consumer. Therefore, there will be different schedules:

15h00 / 17h00 - only trade, HORECA, sommeliers, tourism and press.
17h00 / 20h00 - open to consumers - Wine lovers.

In parallel to the annual event, there will be a masterclass with prestigious Swiss journalist Thomas Vaterlaus, where a wine from each Alentejo producer will be presented at the event.
 
Thomas Vaterlaus is a wine journalist and editor-in-chief of the well-known publication VINUM. He has worked for several daily newspapers of reference and, as freelancer, has signed several collaborations with the media Weltwoche, Annabelle, Sonntagszeitung, among others. He also founded a company specialized in marketing and communication in the area of ​​wines, METTLER Vaterlaus gmbh.


The three Wine & Dine to be held in three distinct cities are a bet from the CVRA in boosting their presence in one of the most important export markets for the region's wines. This novelty seeks to promote a most direct contact between producers and consumers, using gastronomic experiences as a way of harmonizing the country's culture with Wines of Alentejo. Switzerland is the fourth largest export market for Wines of Alentejo, and  also the top market  in terms of value per liter.
