Promoting the region's wines in the largest export market is the objective of the initiative.
The Alentejo Regional Wine Commission (CVRA) is heading back to Brazil this Friday, June 3rd, for yet another action to promote Alentejo wine in the region's largest nectar export market, where it was sold, in 2021, five million bottles, which corresponds to more than 14 million euros. The event “Wines of Portugal in Brazil” takes place from June 3rd to 6th, in Rio de Janeiro, and from June 8th to 11th in São Paulo, Brazil.
“The Brazilian market is constantly growing and, year after year, we feel a greater interest in the wines of our region. For this reason, it is time to take advantage of the occasion and strengthen our presence in what is, by far, the most important export market for Alentejo wines”, advances Francisco Mateus, president of CVRA.
In the event “Vinhos de Portugal no Brasil”, participants will have the opportunity to participate in 4 Commented Tastings and 6 Talkshows of Alentejo Wines, with great personalities from the wine world, such as Luís Lopes, director of the magazine “Vinho, Grandes Escolhas” "; Jorge Lucki, one of Brazil's most renowned wine experts; chef Emmanuel Bassoleil; or Cristiana Beltrão, researcher in gastronomy.
The program of the event, which has the support of the Público newspaper and the Brazilian television station, Globo, can be consulted at
