More than 70 Alentejo producers promote wines from the region in an event that will also debate sustainability in the wine sector.
With more than a dozen editions, “Vinhos do Alentejo em Lisboa” are back in the capital in an event scheduled for the 18th and 19th of November at the CCB – Centro Cultural de Belém. The 12th edition promises to show the unique characteristics of the Alentejo grape varieties, with around 450 wines on display and the presence of more than fifty producers and winemakers in the region.
The event starts at 4 pm on Friday, November 18, and until 9 pm fans of a good tasting experience will be able to enjoy whites, reds and rosés from more than 60 Alentejo producers. On Saturday, November 19, the CCB opens its doors to Alentejo Wines at 3:00 pm, in an initiative that runs until 9:00 pm.
On the two days of the event, at 18:00, wine lovers will also have the opportunity to learn about the Wines of Alentejo Sustainability Program (WASP), a pioneering initiative in Portugal. The workshop, led by João Barroso, coordinator of WASP, will bring together producers with Sustainable Production Certification.
During the two days of the event, participants will also have thematic tastings with the right to debates related to the grape varieties and the particularities of the region's wines.
The Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission (CVRA), responsible for the initiative, estimates that more than 3,500 visitors will be present at an event that already has more than a dozen editions with strong participation and which aims to make known the novelties and new harvests of the producers. from Alentejo.
All those who wish to have access to the tasting of more than 450 wines, with unique varieties and aromas, can purchase the reusable glass for the value of 10 euros.
