“Duets: Wines and Delicassis from Alentejo” is presented by José Pedro Vasconcelos and will award lovers of the region with a raffle for overnight stays and wine tastings.

The Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission (CVRA) has just announced the “Duets: Wines and Delicassis from Alentejo”, a totally online event that promises to bring the flavors of Alentejo to the home of all Portuguese, on the 15th, 22nd and 29th of October. During three showcookings, presented by José Pedro Vasconcelos, Wines of Alentejo will be combined with typical dishes made by some of the renowned chefs, namely Jorge Peças, José Vintém and Fernando Correia.

In the initiative, broadcasted live on the Instagram page “Vinhos do Alentejo”, the hosts - Francisco Mateus, president of CVRA; João Barroso, coordinator of the Alentejo Wines Sustainability Program (PSVA); and Pedro Verdial, responsible for the management of CVRA's social media -, will put on the table themes such as sustainability, wine-growing potential or wine tourism in the region.

CVRA will also raffle two stays in hotels and local accommodations in Alentejo. The first, which will be announced on October 15th, includes the offer of two nights for two people at Casa do Escritor, a wine tasting at Herdade do Freixo and a meal at Café Alentejo.

The second drawing, which will be announced on October 22, includes the stay of eight people, for two nights, at the Noble House, a wine tasting at the Honrado Vineyards and a meal at the Dona Laura restaurant. Both offers also include a second wine tasting from six different brands, in the renovated space of the Rota dos Vinhos do Alentejo.

“This unique event is the materialization of the enormous capacity for reinvention and resilience that characterize the people of Alentejo. This is an event of wines, restaurants, tourism, it will be an initiative of regional scope, since only all together can we make a difference and sell the best we have to offer: Alentejo! ”, Says Francisco Mateus, president of CVRA.

"With this initiative, the event seeks to help local members to come together in a time of pandemic and uncertainty. We  believe that the draw can make known an Alentejo that “is right next door and has a huge potential to be visited”, concludes Francisco Mateus.
