Wines of Alentejo week in Angola
The Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Comission (CVRA) will organize the "WInes of Alentejo Week in Angola". Luanda will welcome the annual wine tasting from Alentejo, two trainings for professionals from large-scale wine chains, and a wine dinner for guest journalists.
In the days leading up to the high moment of the week, which is the annual event on February 28, Wines of Alentejo seek to leave a pedagogical mark in Angola by conducting trainings led by Luís Lopes on 26 and 27 February, respected wine critic in Portugal. During the formations some references of excellence of the region will be tasted, so that the trainees can experience and to differentiate the peculiarities of the Alentejo wines.
The annual Wines of Alentejo tasting in Angola, which goes to its 12th edition, is part of the external promotion plan that CVRA has developed in recent years, with Angola being one of the countries where it operates.
Angola was in 2018 the second largest exporting market for Alentejo wines with more than seven million dollars. In 2018, 79 Alentejo wine producers exported 350 brands to that African country.
The wines of this region are exported to 115 international markets, and the amount exported has tripled in the last ten years. Brazil, Angola, United States of America, Switzerland and Poland constitute the Top 5 in the ranking of the importing countries for the Wines of Alentejo.
