In the hot Alentejo region, outside of Beja, lies a vineyard with decades of history. Henrique Uva has been preserving these old vines and making them profitable. Then in 2004, he made a dream come true with the company Henrique Uva / Herdade da Mingorra.
The winery is located at Herdade da Mingorra, an estate sitting on 1,400 hectares with a profuse diversity of crops and wildlife, supported by rich water resources all of which combine to make an authentic oasis. The winery is a temple to winemaking – it melds modernity and functionality with traditional techniques. The resulting wines are consistent, some even innovative, with an excellent quality for the price. They are the fruit of the work of a dynamic, hardworking creative team led by winemaker Pedro Hipólito.
Excellent growing conditions, wine making facilities and staff are the secret behind this success story. The wines have received enthusiastic critical success and sales are on the rise domestically and abroad. We are, thus, facing the future with a combination of optimism and redoubled hard work.
