Monte do João Martins is located in the parish of Carreiras, between Portalegre and Castelo de Vide. It was acquired by the Severo Mendes family in 2004, where they carry out the traditional activities of the region: forestry, sheep and vineyards.
Of these activities, we highlight the vineyard with the red grape varieties: Alicante Bouschet, Syrah and Touriga Nacional and the white varieties Alvarinho, Arinto and Vignier, monitored and managed with extreme care.
A winery was then built where there is a strong link between the region's traditional traditional methods of winemaking in the region with the necessary technology of the best oenological available oenological practices. The raw material, the grape, is treated with the utmost respect, producing a recognised wine of the highest quality.
