History and values

Sociedade Agrícola Jorge Rosa Santos & Filhos Lda is a family estate at the Monte do Mata Mouros, in the Estremoz parish of Glória. Since the time of the Marquis of Pombal, the Santos family has been active in agriculture and the current generation have taken the initiative to begin this small wine business.

Monte do Mata Mouros is a small estate in the foothills of the Serra d’Ossa, facing the Ribeira de Tera valley. There we have planted the highest quality grapes in austere conditions due to an exceptional mesoclimate and poor schist soils.

Our guiding philosophy is to let the unique qualities of the vine express themselves. Thus, we allow each vintage to express its unequalled nature in a reflection of the vines’ response to the environmental variations of each year. Each vintage is irreplicable and inimitable.
