History
The estate has a wine heritage dating back to 1795 and is located no far from the Spanish borders, southern Alentejo.
In the excellent Moura region, the Figueira de Chaves with their great passion for wine, their love for the countryside and using only organic farming practices have made Medeiros nowadays free of pesticides and herbicides. Maintaining the natural surroundings and wilderness untouched, is a natural sanctuary for animal and different species of birds that migrate every year.
Different expositions to the sun, a cool Atlantic breeze (Ares) and the granitic, schist and sandy soils have allowed to make unique wines with distinctions and longevity, that have achieved national and international recognition.
