"A 23 year old winemaker and English Viticulture it could only go wrong! Portuguese winemaker António Maçanita and resident English viticulturist consultant, David Booth met for the first time in early 2004. Over the next few months António was learning viticulture with David and a close friendship developed. Next step doing some wine, first wine, first success, with Trophy Alentejo Award by IWC, given the second time in 22 years of competition.
Fitapreta produces wines that reflect our character, what we like, what we aspire, our mood and our perception of esthetics. We are as much about diving deep in our culture and varietals, as we are about changing the world with news trials, new tastes and new blends. We produce the wines for us, for us to like it. And hopefully, some people will share our same esthetics for wine and… Who knows… For life.
The wine tourism offer is now launched for all who want to visit, learn more about the historic building, the Fitapreta brand, the world of the winemaker António Maçanita and, of course, taste the wines from an increasingly extensive portfolio.
Any visitor unbooked can sit at Fitapreta’s bar and have a glass of wine. For those who want to learn more about wines and taste in company, you can choose to take a tasting commented by a member of the Fitapreta team. The number of wines in tasting can vary between 3 and 8 labels, and prices between 20€ and 40€.
