The estate of Quinta do Quetzal is located in the heart of the Alentejo, in the finest areas of Vila de Frades/Vidigueira. The vineyards lie on schist slopes near the Serra do Mendro and the site climate provides unique conditions for producing both white and red wines.

The winery was inaugurated in 2006 and designed around the concepts ‘modernity’ and ‘gravity’ – everything starts at the top of the winery and ends in the cellar, relying on gravity to transport the wines rather than on pumps.

The buildings facing east, particularly those next to the winery, enjoy a wide-open view of the surroundings including the vineyards of the opposite hill and the town of Vidigueira.

Quinta do Quetzal is awarded with the ‘Prémio Melhor Restaurante Alentejo 2018’ (Best Restaurant Award, Alentejo 2018) and the ‘Prémio Melhor Enoturismo Alentejo 2017’ (Best Wine Tourism Award, Alentejo 2017).
