ALCUNHA White 2021
Alcunha means nickname. The nickname is a special individual characterization of a person, place or thing given because of a very own particular characteristic. A grape, a place, a wine.
TERROIR
Vineyards planted in schistose and silt-loam soil near the city of Estremoz. The climate is continental Mediterranean with a thermal amplitude that ranges between warm days and cold nights during the grapes’ maturation period.
NOTES
Limited production with promissing resistance.
Reveals a sensitivity to portuguese burocracy, grape indexes and undefined smart people.
Believing in a golden grape for wine, to adapt it to the southern schist, lost between wishing its pleasure and dreaming with the ambition of making a great wine!
VINIFICATION
Hand harvest in mid-September, skin maceration for 12 hours, fermentation and aged for 7 months on used oaked barrels.
FOOD PAIRING
It’s a white wine with no in between. It is perfect with fatty fish like a nice grilled turbot.

17,5 POINTS | Highly Recommended
Depth of aroma, distinctive and fresh. Citric and floral notes, strong mineral sense. Quality mouth structure, medium volume, linear and incisive, vibrant acidity and a very pleasant bitter subtilty. Growing ending, modest but filled with wonder. Great wine!
