This wine expresses the true terroir of the Vila de Frades region. It comes from an old vineyard (around 40 years old), where the blend of the region's 7 indigenous grape varieties is the result of the distribution of the vines in the vineyard itself. The result is a unique wine that is both the same and different every year.
Soil
Sandy loam soil based on granite.
Harvesting Method
Manual.
Vineyard Age
40 years old.
Fermentation / Ageing Process
The blend was made directly after harvest and fermentation is spontaneous. The wine fermented in Talha and remained until the end of December and beginning of January. It was cleaned, filtered naturally through the masses and placed in another Talha where it aged for 5 months. After bottling, the wine aged in the bottle for 4 years. No chemicals were added throughout the process, except a small amount of sulfur ate the end (on average ¼ of that allowed for organic wines).
Service and Drinking Temperature
Serve at a temperature between 9ºC e 12ºC. You can serve directly, but we recommend letting the wine breathe for around 10/20 minutes before serving.
