Produced from a blend of Trincadeira (33%) and Aragonez (67%), from an old vineyard, around 40 years old, located near the Ermida de Santa Clara.
It’s transitional terroir between Vila de Frades and Vidigueira, with its sandy loam soils granite base with some clay.
It’s a wine in which evolution in the bottle is an added value in reaching its full potential. Our Talha wines can age in the bottle for many years, which is why we can call them “LONG AGE”.
Soil
Granite-based sandy loam soil with some clay.
Harvesting Method
Manual.
Fermentation / Ageing Process
The blend was made directly after harvest and fermentation is spontaneous. The wine fermented in Talha and remained until the end of December and beginning of January. It was cleaned, filtered naturally through the masses and placed in another Talha where it aged for 5 months. After bottling, the wine aged in the bottle for 4 years. No chemicals were added throughout the process, except a small amount of sulfur ate the end (on average ¼ of that allowed for organic wines).
Service and Drinking Temperature
Serve at a temperature between 16ºC e 18ºC. You can serve directly, but we recommend letting the wine breathe for around 1h before serving.
