Type: White wine
Varieties: 50% Viosinho and 50% Gouveio
Soil: Residual granite and metamorphic sedimentary soils.
The feminine elegance of the Gouveio contrasts dynamically with the masculine complexity of the Viosinho, matured together for 6 months in French barriques. The wine is the product of an intimate knowledge of autochthonous grapevine varieties and the unique terroir of the region, orchestrated in perfect harmony.
Winemaking: Hand-picked in 55lb boxes. After the destemming follows the cold maceration for 24 hours at a temperature of 40°F. Then starts the fermentation in small capacity stainless steel vats at a temperature of 64°F for 4 weeks. After that the wine is filtered and biologically stabilized. Subsequently it is matured in stainless steel vats at a temperature of 45°F until it is cold stabilised before bottling to achieve the full aroma capacity of that wine.
Longevity: This wine is served at its best from now untill 2017
