Poliphonia Signature Red

The Land

Located on the outskirts of Reguengos is the “Monte dos Perdigões”.
Owned by the Granadeiro family since 2001 this property was once the home of Damião de Góis ( a famous Portuguese historian that lived in the XVIth Century) and later to Luís de Freitas Bran-co a music composer that was one of the most relevant figures of the Portuguese culture in the XXth Century and it is believed that some of his most important pieces were composed there.

The Wine

In some years there are a few casks that show oustanding potential. Those casks are separated and become Poliphonia Signature.

The Author

Henrique Granadeiro, a successful business man (he is now the president of the Portuguese tele-com – PT), was born in the Alentejo region, located in the South of Portugal. Although his profes-sional life made him move to Lisbon, he always felt strongly connected to this land.
His contact with the wine business goes back a long way as member of the board of the Eugénio de Almeida in the creation of the iconic brands “Cartuxa” and “Pêra Manca”.
In 2001 decided that was time to give wings to his dreams and launched his personnal project in Reguengos, in the centre of Alentejo and close to the region where he was born. Since then he has devoted all his knowledge and passion into the creation of his wines.

The Winemaker

Pedro Baptista was born in 1969. He studied in the “École Supérieure d’Oenologie” in Montepellier, France where he graduated.
With a long experience in the region he started working with Henrique Granadeiro in 1994 at Adega Cartuxa, and in 2002 he became the responsible for all the wines produced at the winery.
In 2010 he received the Winemaker of the year Award by the portuguese wine magazine “Wine”.
