Winemaker: Rocha Rosa 2009 was made by Luis Bourbon, at his winery in Evoramonte.
GRAPE VARIETIES: Made from Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet and Aragonez.
Vinification: The grapes were harvested in the second week of September and fermented in temperature controlled steel tanks, before being aged in oak for over 12 months.
TASTING NOTES:
Aroma: The wine has a strong fragrant nose.
Palate: Powerful but supple palate, intensely rich and luscious with peppery spice and damson fruit, and refined tannins. Good balance and well made all in harmony. Scented long length.
It was entered into the 2012 International Wine Challenge and the International Wine and Spirit Competition and won Bronze medals from both. In 2013, it was entered into the Decanter World Wine Awards and the Sommelier Wine Awards and again won Bronze medals from both.
