Classification: Vinho Regional Alentejano
Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet.
Method: After careful selection of the grapes, destemming and vinification were conducted separately for each grape variety.
The Touriga Nacional grapes fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, with pumping-over and controlled temperature of 25-28ºC for 8 days. Then the wine went through malolatic fermentation in new oak barrels of 225 litres (French & American).
The Alicante Bouschet grapes fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, with
controlled temperature of 28-30ºC for 5 days. The wine remained in contact with the skins (cuvaison) at 20-24ºC for a month, going through malolatic fermentation during this period. After that it spent 3 month in new oak barrels (French & American).
This vintage of “Tinto da Talha Grande Escolha” is the blend of these 2 wines.
