Viticulture and Winemaking: The Grapes were selectively handpicked into 25 kg harvest boxes and transported to a refrigerated chamber in the winery. The wine was made by gentle whole bunch pressing and a totally natural clarification. The juice was slowly fermented, at 12ºC
Food pairing: Excellent with smoked dishes in general, including smoked fish with simple confection, seafood dishes and some desserts made from fruit.
This Riesling oscillates between purity and minerality of the pure Riesling and some aromas of late harvest. "God takes away with one hand and gives with the other."
In 2011, our vineyard was ravaged by míldio and we lost about 80% of the production. Toward the end of the harvest, a second production (known as granddaughters grapes) in Riesling begins to show signs of wanting to grow up, with decent flavors of something divine. Harvested at the beggining of November, we have this very special Riesling, that oscillates between purity and minerality of the pure Riesling and some aromas of a late harvest.
